“Paethongtarn” admits to kicking “Chalerm” out of Pheu Thai MPs’ LINE group

Government House, “Paetongtarn” admits to kicking “Chalerm” out of the Pheu Thai MPs’ LINE group without consulting anyone, stating that she doesn’t want members to feel uncomfortable after he often sends LINE messages saying he wants to switch parties, insists that there is no policy to expel him from the party, and asks to end the drama here. As for challenging “Thaksin” to a debate, go ask him yourself.

Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, leader of the Pheu Thai Party, gave an interview about the conflict with Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm Yubamrung, a Pheu Thai Party-list MP, after yesterday (24 July) she gave a press conference to open up, which later led to news that Ms. Paethongtarn had deleted Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm’s Line from the Pheu Thai Party MP group.

Ms. Paethongtarn admitted that she was the one who deleted Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm’s Line from the party’s MP Line group. Because in the Pheu Thai MP Line group, there will be details of various appointments, including debate times and budgets. There will be discu
ssions in there for the MPs to be aware. When she saw the news yesterday (July 24), she did not want people in the party, especially those in that Line group, which is a group for work, to feel discouraged. Before that, Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm had sent a few messages. She did not want there to be any issues. And everyone felt worried. When they heard the news, what would happen to the party? How would the group talk? The message that Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm sent was about changing parties. It made everyone feel uncomfortable. Until they thought that if they talked to others about removing this matter, they would be considerate. So they thought it would be better to delete it. That’s all.

When asked if he had spoken to Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm before deciding to remove him from the LINE group, the Pheu Thai Party leader replied, ‘I didn’t.’

As for what she thought of Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm’s press conference yesterday (July 24), especially the issue of challenging him to be expelled from the Pheu Thai Party, Ms. Pae
thongtarn said that they had not discussed it beforehand, and she had said since the last time that she did not want more drama. She really did not know that removing him from the group would make it news because she did not want to make people in the group feel uncomfortable. This was her intention. But since it became news, she was ready to explain that she really wanted to continue working. But the matter of Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm coming out to give a press conference was his business.

When asked if there would be a need to talk, Ms. Paethongtarn said she was always ready. If we could still talk among ourselves, we were ready.

When asked again that she would not go to talk at the house by the canal like the last time in person, if she wanted to talk to Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm, would she have to come to talk at the party? Ms. Paetongtarn thought that was the right thing to do. Coming into the party should be in a formal manner. If there was a talk, there would have to be a party secretary and party director
who had to be together, which would be more professional. And party matters are not a joke. Therefore, if there was to be a talk about this, she wanted to talk formally.

As for whether there is an opportunity to expel Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm from the party according to his own wishes, Ms. Paethongtarn stated that he would just expel him from the group. We do not have a policy of expelling him from the party.

When asked if there were any problems that had accumulated before, apart from Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm going to give encouragement to Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamronwit Toopkrachang, former president of the Pathum Thani Provincial Administrative Organization, and whether there were any problems that had accumulated before, Ms. Paethongtarn stated that she did not know that Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm had gone with her. She confirmed that she had never chased him away or sent a message, and she had never said a word that she would have Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm and Mr. Wan Uibamrung leave the Pheu Thai Party. She had never said t
hat, and she had never shown such intentions. She asked for it to be clear here, but everyone is grown up and can decide for themselves what to do and plan their own lives ahead. She always respected them and had to wish them luck and success.

‘Therefore, please let there be no more of this matter, and I ask permission not to give any more interviews about this matter. I want everyone to continue working. There is no drama on this side. But if you ask whether it is true that I deleted myself from the LINE group, it is true. And I did not consult anyone because I thought that I had to continue working, which is important. Moreover, the Palang Pracharath Party is already a coalition party. Therefore, I wish you success and we will continue to work together. Let this matter end here. I would like to emphasize that there are no accumulated problems before. There have never been any problems,’ Ms. Paethongtarn stated.

When asked about the case of Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm challenging Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, the form
er prime minister who is Ms. Paetongtarn’s father, to a debate, Ms. Paetongtarn said that she did not know and asked Mr. Thaksin himself.

As for Pol. Lt. Col. Chalerm stating that even if the Pheu Thai Party does not expel him, his role in the parliament will change, Ms. Paethongtarn said that this is something the party must handle and deal with accordingly.
