Meteorology warns of heavy rain in many areas of Thailand – 70% chance of thunderstorms in Bangkok

Bangkok, The Meteorological Department has warned that Thailand will experience heavy rain in many areas, with some areas in the North, East and the West Coast of the South experiencing very heavy rain. Bangkok and its vicinity will experience thunderstorms with a 70% chance of heavy rain in some areas.

The Meteorological Department forecasts the weather for the next 24 hours. A strong monsoon trough will pass through the upper North and the upper Northeast, entering a low-pressure cell in the upper South China Sea. In addition, the southwest monsoon that covers the Andaman Sea, the South, the Gulf of Thailand, the Central and the East is quite strong. This will cause heavy rain in many areas of Thailand, with some areas in the North, the East and the West Coast of the South. People in the aforementioned areas should be careful of the dangers of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially in areas on hillsides near waterways and lowlands during th
is period.

For the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, they are quite strong with waves 2-3 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, the waves are higher than 3 meters. As for the lower Andaman Sea, the waves are approximately 2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, the waves are higher than 2 meters. Sailors in the aforementioned areas are asked to sail with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand should refrain from leaving the shore during this period.

Bangkok and its vicinity will have thunderstorms in 70 percent of the area and heavy rain in some areas. Minimum temperature 26-28 degrees Celsius, maximum temperature 32-35 degrees Celsius.
