Last night, Rayong City Police and forensic officers from Sawang Prakuson Rayong Rescue went to investigate a fight and assault with a knife, resulting in a fatality, in a rented shophouse in Tambon Thap Ma, Amphoe Mueang Rayong. The scene was a one-story concrete house where the body of Mr. Thawatchai, aged 39, was found lying in a pool of blood, severely injured, with multiple slashes on his body. Rescue workers gave him first aid, but it was unsuccessful. He lost a lot of blood and later died. In addition, a blood-stained knife was found in the hallway and the perpetrator’s bloody footprints, which the police collected as evidence.

Ms. Chamaiporn, 35 years old, the wife of the deceased, gave information that the perpetrator was Mr. Chatchai or Mr. Lek, 34 years old, her ex-husband whom she had separated from f
or almost 1 year before coming to live with the deceased, who was now pregnant. Even after they had separated, Mr. Chatchai, her ex-husband, still came to cause trouble for her and her new husband. Before the incident, she had turned off the lights and gone to bed, when suddenly her ex-husband snuck into the house, broke down the bedroom door, and came straight to her and her new husband, cursing him. Then he used a sharp knife that he had prepared to slash her new husband without warning. After the incident, he immediately fled the house.

While officers were investigating the scene, the perpetrator sent a taunting message to Ms. Chamaiporn, saying, ‘Don’t challenge me,’ and called to say that he would turn himself in. He is currently in Sattahip, saying, ‘You can kill him, but you can’t insult him.’ He asked back, ‘Is he really dead?’ before hanging up immediately.
