Chiang Mai residents are excited to link their PromptPay accounts and verify their identities to receive digital money.

This morning in Chiang Mai Province, villagers in San Sai Subdistrict have been taking their elderly family members to link their PromptPay accounts and verify their identities in preparation for the digital money that will arrive later this month. Most of them said they were happy to receive 10,000 baht, which they will use to pay for household expenses.

At the BAAC San Sai branch this morning, children brought their elderly family members to check PromptPay with the bank. If it was found that there was no PromptPay account linked, they would immediately link the account with the bank. Meanwhile, some brought their parents to verify their identities at the bank because they could not verify via the mobile application themselves. Most of them said that they had to prepare in advance to receive the 10,000 baht that the government will issue at the end of September, according to the order of the numbers on the back of the ID card.

The elderly group said that they will use the 10,000 baht for their daily expe
nses because the money they receive from the elderly is not enough because the current cost of living is more expensive. Therefore, they are very happy to receive 10,000 baht to spend to increase their financial liquidity and believe that it will help stimulate the country’s economy.
